Joel was born and raised in Abbotsford, BC where he grew up working on the family raspberry farm. He attended MEI secondary school where he was a passionate basketball player on one of the top teams in BC! Go Eagles!!

After high school Joel lived in the Caribbean for 6 months, became a huge Bob Marley fan!, and then lived an adventure filled life in Thailand and Cambodia for 12 years.!

Joel, his wife Avin and their 3 kids, moved to Lumby, BC in 2022! After building their family home they are now are living their ‘Country Dream’ with 1 dog, 2 cats, 30 chickens and 2 goats on 22 acres!!! The kids are praying for a horse! LOL!

Joel has been a Wedding Officiant for 11 years and has done weddings of every style!! From ‘5 Star Hotel’ ceremonies to a ‘Pontoon Boat’ ceremony with a one legged chicken ring bearer, (true story!) he loves weddings of all all kinds!!

‘I love weddings and I am not just saying that because I am an ‘officiant’! I love hearing how couples met, how they fell in love and how that has led them to getting married! It is such an incredible honour to be part of one of the biggest days of someones life! I never take that for granted!’
